Release and Product Item Conditions

When creating listings on Eshop, providing clear condition information helps buyers make informed choices. Depending on whether an item is a new release or second-hand, the way conditions appear on the listing differs slightly. This guide explains how to display conditions for different products — vinyl, books, or other media — and how to correctly mark items as second-hand.

New Release Items

For brand-new items, such as freshly released vinyl, books, or media, the condition is generally assumed to be Mint. In these cases:

Focus on edition details, packaging, or other features instead of grading.

Second-Hand Items

For used or second-hand items, displaying condition is mandatory. Buyers need precise information about what to expect. This includes both overall wear and the condition of key components:

How to Mark an Item as Second-Hand

To ensure the condition field is visible for your item:

  1. In your listing edition, locate the “Second-Hand” checkbox.

  2. Tick this checkbox to set the item as second-hand.

  3. Once selected, the condition field will appear on the listing for you to specify grading.

Using standardized grading terms like Mint, Very Good, Good, and Acceptable ensures consistency across all listings. For example, a vinyl record with a slightly worn cover but a perfect disc could be listed as:
VG sleeve / M media.

Summary

By following this process, your listings — whether vinyl, books, or other media — will be accurate, consistent, and trustworthy for buyers.
